Anna Wilson, Ray Price & Rascal Flatts Duet!

You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me - (Anna Wilson with Ray Price & Rascal Flatts)

MusicNewsNashville.com – Chuck Dauphin - January 31, 2011

“From her very eclectic COUNTRYPOLITAN DUETS disc, this gorgeous gem shimmers thanks to background vocals from Rascal Flatts and sweet harmony between Jazz siren Wilson and the legendary Price.  Is he really 85?  Can't tell it on this cut!”

COUNTRYPOLITAN DUETS – ALBUM REVIEW!

January 25th, 2011

MusicNewsNashville.com – Chuck Dauphin - January 25, 2011

As a reviewer, there sometimes are words that I might use a little too much.  “Eclectic” comes to mind.  Maybe “Diverse” would be another.  Those terms come up when a project is harder to define.  You could apply those words to this fantastic new project from Anna Wilson, but I guess to borrow a word from the great Bette Midler, I’ll simply call it “Divine.”

This album is one of the better musical treats I have heard in a long time.  It blends Pop, Jazz, and Country like few projects before or since.  Wilson, a Nashville singer-songwriter who is based in Jazz, takes the listener on a magical journey through some of music’s all-time standards, with some very special guests along the way.

COUNTRYPOLITAN DUETS – OPRY SPOTLIGHT

January 21st, 2011

JAZZED UP COUNTRY! - Country Weekly - January 21, 2011

On the surface, jazz and country might seem as poorly matched as home-brewed moonshine and champagne.  But the musical cousins have been making nice for decades.  The latest in the line of artists to coax the two styles is Nashville singer and hit songwriter, Anna Wilson.  Anna, who made her Grand Ole Opry debut in late 2010, has recorded the album "Countrypolitan Duets" with star partners including KEITH URBAN, RASCAL FLATTS, LADY ANTEBELLUM and KENNY ROGERS.  Among the tracks on the album due out April 5 are, "Walkin' After Midnight", made famous by PATSY CLINE in 1957, when smooth, sophisticated stylings began to edge out the honky-tonk sounds then popular with country fans.  Other artists who have taken to the country-and-jazz crossroads are:  WILLIE NELSON, RAY PRICE, RAY CHARLES, BOB WILLS, SHELBY LYNNE and LYLE LOVETT.
